ReroofPulse
New roofs, no solar yet.
A free weekly report for solar installers. It counts the roof-replacement permits issued in each ZIP code last week where the property has no solar permit on record.
A homeowner who just replaced their roof no longer has the "my roof needs replacing first" objection. This report shows where those homes are concentrated, ZIP by ZIP.
Latest week (2026-10-18 to 2026-10-24): City of Los Angeles: 308 no-solar re-roofs; San Diego County (unincorporated): 9 no-solar re-roofs

Coverage
- City of Los Angeles
- Unincorporated San Diego County
Other jurisdictions are not covered yet.
Method
- We pull newly issued building permits from public open-data portals published by each city or county.
- We keep roof-replacement permits issued Sunday to Saturday and check the same property for any solar/PV permit on record.
- Each permit is scored on building type, roof size, roof material, valuation and permit status, then grouped into score bands.
- We publish counts by ZIP code only. Any count below 3 is shown as "<3".
What we don't publish
No homeowner names, street addresses, permit numbers, or contractor names. The free report contains only ZIP-level aggregates.
Data comes from public government records and may contain errors or delays. "No solar on record" means no permitted solar was found in the source data. It does not guarantee there is no system.
